I requested an ARC of this cookbook the second I saw it and I'm so glad that I was approved because of my abiding adoration for The Princess Bride; this is one that my husband and teens appreciated as well since the movie is a long time family favorite.
Ms. Fujikawa has kept to the the film with the recipes, and full kudos for that. The layout is appealing with quotes, movie stills, and behind the scenes photos.
I would have liked to have seen a more inclusive cookbook as most of the recipes here are for carnivores as well as omnivores without much for vegans, nor much that is easily veganizeable…
Of the meal recipes -
Vegan - 5
Vegetarian - 19
Omnivore - 19
Of the drinks -
Vegan - 7
Vegetarian - 3
… but this is an absolute recommendation for non vegans - this is the cookbook that every die hard, twue fan needs. As a vegan, this one didn’t work super well for me, but my family certainly enjoyed it and plan on making some of the recipes.
